ANN ARBOR ? Valentine’s Day this year is more than a time for lovers, it also marks the start of a new webcast era for an old line broadcast station News/Talk 760 WJR. Starting Feb. 14, WJR has partnered with Online Technology Corp. to offer WJR?s news and information over the Internet.
Access is free and available to listeners at WJR.com 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“We are honored to be selected as the Internet infrastructure provider to power the News/Talk 760 WJR Internet broadcasts,?? said Ty Myers, vice president sales and marketing at OTC. “Now WJR’s large following of listeners are able to hear and interact with their favorite station and personalities at their work or home computer and even around the world via the Internet.?
WJR President Michael Fezzey said the station began a project to bring The Great Voice of The Great Lakes to the Internet. It was about then that OTC approached WJR to handle its webcasting needs.
?The business partner’s team needed to be accessible to our staff and located within our region; they needed to have an industrial-class data center and tools to maintain our high-level of quality; plus flexible enough to deliver and adhere to our specific needs,?? he said in a prepared statement. ?In the end there was only one choice, Online Technologies Corporation.?
