Virtual Reciprocity Ring Update

ANN ARBOR - The IT Zone's first Virtual Reciprocity Ring (VRR) launched on September 28 is going strong.

The group of 48 networking aficionados have logged 109 requests and have responded with 396 contributions as of November 1.

Virtual Reciprocity Rings are social networking tools that help individuals and businesses network, communicate and problem solve more effectively. The VRR software the IT Zone is using was developed by Humax and evolved from the social networking and virtual reciprocity research of Wayne Baker at the University of Michigan.

Recent additions to the VRR include personal requests, such as:

Locating a reputable remodelor for a home-improvement project

And serious business requests, such as:

Recruiting Windows .NET software developers

Determining how much a typical IT firm invests in Sales and Marketing

Seeking tips on collecting (potentially) bad debt

For more information on Virtual Reciprocity Rings and the latest research on success through social capital and networking, go to www.waynebaker.com www.humaxnetworks.com. If you’re interested in joining the next IT Zone VRR, please contact Diane Durance at ddurance@annarboritzone.org.
