Nomination Deadline Nov. 6 For Michigan's Going Green Awards

WARREN - An annual program hosted by Corp! magazine and sponsored by MITechNews.Com honors those companies and organizations that are leading the way for Michigan's green sector. Application deadline is Nov. 6.
Self-nominations are accepted. Unless otherwise noted, all information provided on the form and in supporting materials may be used by our editorial team to prepare an article, should the nominee be selected. Nominee must sign the Verification/Release of Information form (available after submitting the nomination).
Award Criteria include:
Significant achievements in the selected category.
Clearly demonstrates commitment to green, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
Contributions to technologies, products and services that promote green.
Additional Required Materials for Nomination (Nomination materials will not be returned):
Please provide up to a 1,000 word summary as to why the nominee should receive this honor.

Categories & Criteria
Green Industry Innovators
This category is for companies that offer green services and/or products and meet one or more of the following descriptions:
Actively drives the green industry through innovation
Develops and/or implements new green products, technologies, and methodologies (e.g., green-friendly technology, fuel sources, waste recycling, energy such as solar/wind/water, building materials, construction methods, etc.)
Develops and/or implements existing green products, technologies and methodologies.
Green Initiatives Champions
This category is for companies located in Michigan that are implementing green business practices and meet one or more of the following criteria:
Implements green products, technologies and methodologies in its business and/or supports environmental sustainability and green business practices such as:
Recycling of paper, plastic, metals, computes, etc.
Energy conservation.
Conservation of natural resources, such as water, forests, etc.
Manages its carbon footprint; uses carbon offsets.
Environmentally friendly cleaning practices.
Waste management.
Management of greenhouse emissions and air quality
Manages/maintains a green facility.
Uses green construction and building renovation practices (LEED and non-LEED certified).
Encourages green practices with its vendors.
Uses environmentally friendly delivery methods of its products/services.
Buys recycled products for its business so as it minimize its usage of natural resources
Green Organizations
This category is for community organizations and nonprofits in Michigan that meet one or more of the following criteria:
Promotes green education and training.
Advocates at the legislative level for green lawmaking and policies.
Engages in green practices within its own organization such as recycling, energy conservation, buying recycled items, etc.
Responsible for creating, sustaining, or promoting special programs, initiatives, strategies to capitalize on opportunities or respond to challenges concerning green and environmental issues.
Develops, implements and/or sponsors green events such as technology recycling, hazardous waste disposal for the community.
Provides funding or grants for green initiatives.
In cooperation with the Michigan Business and Professional Association and
the Michigan Food and Beverage Association
